Job Description

Overview:

Languages: English

Education: College, CEGEP, or another non-university program lasting 1 to 2 years

Experience: 1 to 7 months

Responsibilities:

Tasks:

  • Coordinate activities with other departments or work units
  • Monitor the movement of supplies and materials across departments
  • Read and interpret blueprints, production drawings, and specifications
  • Ensure the proper functioning of computer equipment and machinery
  • Arrange for maintenance and repairs when necessary
  • Verify the accuracy of completed time sheets, payroll, and other reports
  • Compile worksheets and specifications for orders
  • Consult with production supervisors to plan production runs efficiently in terms of cost and time
  • Create, track, and complete work orders
  • Estimate the materials and labor required for production
  • Prepare and maintain progress and other reports
  • Advise vehicle operators on traffic and other issues
  • Dispatch personnel based on schedules and work orders
  • Manage emergency dispatches as needed
  • Knowledge of cross-border dispatching rules and practices
  • Operate computer-aided communication and dispatching systems
  • Plan, organize, and oversee operational logistics within the organization
  • Schedule tasks and coordinate the activities of vehicle operators, crews, and equipment
